Hello October! It’s officially autumn and we are ready for all the seasonal changes in store! Colors, textures, seasonal flowers… bring ‘em on. Changing seasons bring new challenges into the world of design and it’s always refreshing to mix things up a bit. For example, when designing tablescapes for an event- whether it’s a wedding or birthday bash- our team considers seasonal elements to incorporate into floral arrangements, place settings and lounge seatings. Using colors, textures, fabrics, natural and man-made materials, we create a layered design with subtle nods to the current season.
Below you’ll see a few examples of such styling with layers of seasonal touches. Look for tiny persimmons, plumes of wheat, wooden serving boards, deep-hued fabrics and warm colors. Any design element can be turned into something seasonal when paired with the right selection of items. A wooden serving board is just a serving board until it’s paired with bright orange dahlias or golden mums. A burlap table runner topped with figs, apples and rustic breads becomes an instant homage to the fall harvest. The key to achieving a cohesive style is through careful selection of individual items- being mindful of colors, textures and materials- that will work together to create a stylish seasonal design.
