Today’s blog entry features a very special event for our client Zack and his family: the celebration of Zack’s bar mitzvah! According to Jewish tradition, when a boy turns 13, he becomes accountable for his actions and is called to the torah. The young man bears responsibility for participating in all aspects of Jewish community life, including ritual law, tradition and ethics. By the time a boy turns 13, he has studied many aspects of Hebrew and Judaism and the torah. With such preparation for the ceremony done, afterwards, it’s time to celebrate his achievements. And that’s where our Morgan Events team comes into the picture. Following the traditional bar mitzvah ceremony and lunch, our team designed and styled the ‘After Party’ for Zack and his friends. Zack wanted us to create a fun, high-energy nightclub. Think neon lights, super sweet treats, dancing and lots of activities. Anything you can dream, we can design! Let Morgan Events be your go-to bar mitzvah event planners!
We started with a grand entrance to the nightclub: a neon-lit tunnel leading into the after party. Upon entering the ballroom, guests could see the dimly lit interior with pops of neon lights, swanky velvet furniture, and a custom lit dance floor. Two large bars flanked the nightclub - signature mocktails at Bar 13 for Zack and his friends and signature cocktails at Bar 21 for the adults. Continuous fun activities were on-hand for entertainment, including neon foosball tables, an interactive photo booth, virtual reality (VR) game box station, and a graffiti art station customizing smartphone cases for all guests. As for sweet treats, all of Zack’s favorites were included on our custom neon-lit dessert station: Psycho Donuts (Cereal Killer and Kooky Monster flavors), tiramisu, fruit sorbets, and mini Krispy Kreme donuts paired with glass milk bottles, accented with LED straws.
In addition to fun and games, we designated time to focus on Zack and his family, honoring traditional customs of the Kiddush, Motzi and Candle Lighting Ceremony. Zack took center stage with his father and grandfather to start the ceremonies. Along with heartfelt speeches, Zack and select family members performed a special candle lighting ceremony to further note the symbolic nature of the bar mitzvah occasion.
After the blessings, guests continued with dinner - kids at their food stations and adults were treated to a seated dinner. Following dinner, guests were invited back into the VIP room to view a montage of Zack’s life - oohs, ahhhs and laughter came from the crowd as those family members and friends shared memories flashing on the big screen.
The fabulous DJ and dance crew of Aaron David Productions provided hours of entertainment and spectacle. They kept adults and teens alike moving and grooving all evening long. Adding to the fun and excitement on the dance floor, we organized glow sticks, horah chair lift and a spectacular balloon drop to surprise and delight all the guests. By the end of the evening, it was time to close our pop-up nightclub and send guests home with a little thank you gift for attending the bar mitzvah celebration- neon sunglasses and custom illuminated neon jackets with Zack’s club logo.
We hope you enjoyed checking out all the fun from Zack’s custom designed bar mitzvah ‘after party.’ If you’d like to see our design for a custom bat mitzvah celebration, check out our gallery featuring Club SK.
