Cue the music- whether it’s Pachelbel’s Cannon in D or Somewhere Over the Rainbow, today’s journal entry is all about wedding ceremony decor! From pristine lawn covered aisles lined with fluffy hydrangeas to church pews adorned with cascading orchids, we’ve gone into the archives for images of stunning wedding ceremony decor. And it will probably come as no surprise that the main theme you’re going to discover here is that we love fresh flowers for every ceremony. Flowers are so versatile! From color to texture, seasonality and scent, flowers can set the style and ambiance for any wedding ceremony.
Flowers are often a focal point for a wedding ceremony, especially in outdoor ceremonies where the landscape is open and we want to create an intimate space. We use floral arrangements to dedicate that special spot where the officiant will conduct the ceremony and couples will exchange vows. Whether in large vessels, floral arches or more recently, floral rings, these installations should be sized appropriately and create a balance in this sacred space.
When it comes to indoor weddings, we use floral arrangements as the accents to the existing space and architecture where the ceremony will take place. Floral arrangements in churches can be dramatic or subtle. For example, inside of a historic church, while there is a main alter to designate the space, the addition of large scale floral arrangements bursting from vases adds a celebratory feel to the space. Adding small bunches of blooms or cascading orchids to church pews is a more subtle way to bring color and softness to the ceremony aisle. Using candlelight to softly light the floor contributes a bit of romance to the occasion.
Ultimately, when it comes to wedding ceremony decor, there are so many ways to decorate a space. Let your imagination run wild; we’re confident our partners in the floral design studios can create the ceremony style you’re dreaming of. Special thanks to all of our partners whose work you see featured here.
