Years in the making, the Chase Center has opened in San Francisco! This state-of-the-art arena in the Mission Bay neighborhood is home to NBA champions, the Golden State Warriors, and hosts a variety of concerts, family shows and special performances. Located on the top floor of Chase Center is the premier private event space known as Above the Rim. With sweeping views of the San Francisco skyline and Bay waterfront park, this is the city’s hottest ticket in town for hosting private events. Here at Morgan Events, we couldn’t be more excited to share this new event venue with you. In this blog entry, you’ll get a chance to see our design concept that transformed Above the Rim at Chase Center into a stunning space for a city-chic wedding celebration.
Let’s start with the rooftop wedding ceremony space, shall we? Yes, you read that right. Above the Rim at Chase Center has a perfect outdoor terrace for wedding ceremonies! Sweeping views of the San Francisco skyline and waterfront views are on full display here, high above the city lights. Keeping the design light and airy, we lined the aisle and framed the seating area in a neutral color palette with white flowers accented by lush greens- lilies, orchids, hydrangeas, garden roses, ferns, olive branches and sage leaves… just to name a few. Not wanting to obstruct the view, we opted for a slim floral sphere as the ceremony backdrop. For the guest seating area, we chose the trendy clear acrylic chairs from Standard Party Rentals and surrounded the area with faux green walls to keep the space intimate and cozy.
Back inside at Above the Rim, our team created two distinct spaces: a swanky cocktail bar with lounge seating and an elegant formal dining area. Floor to ceiling windows offer spectacular views inside too as you can see how much light fills the space as the couple walks by the dining tables. The artistically designed wedding cake features a marble effect with a nod to materials usually associated with urban areas like stone and cement. But since it is a wedding cake, the gorgeous floral detailing and shimmering fondant reflect the glamour of the celebration. In the dining area, the wedding ceremony color palette remained, complimented with shimmering silver table linens, classically styled chiavari chairs and plush silver flooring. With crystal chandeliers overhead and glowing candlelight on the tables, the formal dining area evoked classic elegance often associated with chic city soirees.
Before and after dinner are both ideal times to visit the bar and mingle with other guests in the lounge! Who doesn’t enjoy an expertly crafted cocktail with springs of fresh thyme, mint or orange slices? For the lounge design, sleek silver-framed leather sofas and sequinned pillows met our criteria of comfort with style. Adding tall floral arrangements and satellite vases on the tables elevated the bar and lounge areas to special event status. You’ll notice the oval shelving above the bar compliment the floral sphere we used in the wedding ceremony decor. Mixing and matching shapes can play a key part in creating a cohesive style and design for any event.
